'Love is shown more in deeds than words.' Well, I beg to differ.

Everyone has folded once or twice due to a text from a crush, a post read on social media, or a phrase in your smut cache that has had you weak in the knees.
Even the old cliché that is sending love letters has earned people a lover or two.
Do you know what all these have in common; they are all words.
There's a reason 90% of the adult population; in the current and previous generations, prefers fictional characters, from anime to comics and novels to movies and tv shows and even music.
Maybe it's because most of these are sustainable, or in other words; safe. Case in point with K-Pop idols or celebrity crushes in general. The disappointment that comes with full commitment is avoided, while necessary hormones are still acquired and in abundance too. But that's not the point here...
All these were written. Someone took their time to create a persona, an encompassing character that was sure to attract the masses.
The biggest defence however is poetry, words that would have you blushing and giggling, kicking your feet up in the air kind of giggling.
Here are some prime examples.
Drink to me only with thine eyes, And I will pledge with mine; Or leave a kiss but in the cup, And I’ll not look for wine.
Before you kissed me only winds of heaven Had kissed me, and the tenderness of rain Now you have come, how can I care for kisses Like theirs again?

That being said, reading is the best kind of therapy to conquer the dubious oblivion that is life.
Romance especially, is comforting in definitive ways... until you finish a story and the slam back to reality is brutal.
But then you pick up a new book and all is well for another while.
Go on this journey with me and I promise to nurture your healthy obsessions.
TTYL,
